Tokyo Ghostbusters – The 1980s Anime
As if they reached into my mind and fondled my pineal gland, those pranksters over at Nacho Punch decided to imagine what it would be like if The Real Ghostbusters had been a 1980s anime complete with yōkai (that’s Japanese for ghosts) and a special guest appearance at the end. Too bad the only real attempt to bring the Ghostbusters into anime turned them into evil, penguin-hunting kidnappers.
TIME EAGLE FREEDOM DEFENDER – Ep14
**VIDEO OF THE WEEK** Chalk this up as one of the best new web series I’ve seen in 2015. As explained in this “handy dandy explanation,” TIME EAGLE FREEDOM DEFENDER stars John Ford Eagle, a time traveling guardian of liberty who lays eggs which contain time tunnels that shunt him and anyone near him off through time and space. Prepare to be re-educated in the history of the universe, the John Ford Eagle way. Produced by Merica Made.
Cop Dog
Channeling almost every buddy cop-dog movie ever made (Turner & Hooch, Top Dog, K-9), along with Scooby-Doo, high5toons’ Cop Dog overlooks the typical approach of making the dog actually talk and instead sticks a pair of shades on him because… “he’s just a dog, but he’s also a cop.” Sorta reminds me of Poochie from The Simpsons only, less annoying.
